When I was thirteen I was herded onto a yoga mat at summer camp and I remember putting my head below my heart. For some beautiful and inexplicable reason, I’ve practiced yoga every day since. At nineteen I went to India and became a 200hrs YTT qualified yoga teacher, and with so much joy I began teaching yoga to university students in Ireland, while also studying my degree in music and performing arts. After years of singing, dancing and teaching - deeply supported by nearly a decade of my own daily yoga practice - I enrolled in the C-IAYT Yoga Therapy Programme with VSOHA, a course I’m currently studying here in Vancouver!
I’ve always loved working with kids - for years I’ve been an open water swimming teacher, doing everything from blowing salty bubbles with babies to rescue training with young adults. I actually had the idea to teach kids yoga when a student (only six years old) told me her favourite part of every swim lesson was when we did our deep breathing warm ups and gorilla goddess moves! I believe in making life as fun and silly as possible - no matter what age you are - and for me, yoga is the perfect tool to help find the joy and lightness in each moment.
